Through hands-on, instructor-led, and online training, individuals can learn the skills, and earn industry-recognized credentials, to become placed into careers with family-sustaining wages.
New Century Careers Manufacturing 2000
MANUFACTURING 2000 (M2K), a PA State Registered Pre-Apprenticeship program, offers entry-level machinist training to qualified applicants at no charge. The program supplies area manufacturers with employees to replace their aging workforce and strengthen Southwestern Pennsylvania’s economy. M2K, a program of New Century Careers, has been made possible through the efforts of area manufacturers, educators, foundations, the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, the US Department of Community and Economic Development and the US Department of Labor and Industry.
Gismondi Job Training Program
Launched with a legacy gift from The Gismondi Foundation, the Gismondi Job Training Program provides broadband telecommunications training for adults seeking employment in jobs that install, test, and troubleshoot infrastructure for telephone, television, or internet systems.

The Trade Institute of Pittsburgh is a non-profit organization and vocational training provider dedicated to providing opportunities for individuals with barriers to employment and others who need additional supports to begin their careers. The Trade Institute is located in the Homewood community of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Founded in 2013, the Trade Institute has engaged and empowered men and women throughout Allegheny County to meet a growing need for skilled tradespeople.

Aimed at creating a level playing field to achieve economic parity, the African American Chamber of Commerce will promote the economic agenda of African American business people through advocacy for business access, educational programs, mentoring and member services aimed at empowerment and self-sufficiency.
